Soccer-Nice handed first defeat of the season by Nantes

(Reuters) - Nice's impressive start to the Ligue 1 season came to an end on Saturday as they lost 1-0 at Nantes, breaking their streak of eight consecutive clean sheets.

After 25 minutes, Nantes' Florent Mollet capitalised on a rebound inside the box and fired the ball into the net.

Despite having numerous opportunities to draw level throughout the game Nice were unable to beat Nantes' goalkeeper Alban Lafont, who made several crucial saves.

Nice are second in the table on 29 points, one behind Paris St Germain, who visit Le Havre on Sunday.

Nantes, who were playing their first match under new manager Jocelyn Gourvennec, are in eighth place with 18 points.
