Football: JDT coach Mora resigns

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta'zim have lost their coach Benjamin Mora half-way into the Super League season.

The 43-year-old Mexican requested to be released from his coaching contract with the championship winning Malaysian team because of family commitments.

JDT announced his departure on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.

Mora's position in the team was under question when he was absent from the bench in the last two JDT matches against Penang in the Super League and Melaka in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Under Mora for the last five years, JDT bagged four Super League, four Charity Shield and one Malaysia Cup trophies while he also guided the team to reach the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League this year.

JDT are expected to announce the replacement for Mora anytime this week.
