Cycling showpiece’s return puts Malaysia in global spotlight


NILAI: Malaysia has been placed firmly at the centre of the global cycling map with the return of the Track World Cup after a 25-year hiatus, currently being held at the National Velodrome in Nilai.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, who was received by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Mordi Bimol, and Malaysian National Cycling Federation president Datuk Amarjit Singh. With participation from more than 40 countries, the championship has drawn an impressive international field, underlining confidence in Malaysia as a host nation.
