PASIR PUTEH: Several Malaysian riders came close to being caught out by the punishing 198.2km Stage Three race of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) from Gerik to Pasir Puteh yesterday.

The key point of the race came at the Puncak Titiwangsa climb, the third categorised ascent of the day at the 65.9km mark, where the elevation reached 1,056m. The gruelling section split the peloton into several groups, leaving some of the local riders trailing behind.
