PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will lose out on medals after cycling and bowling were excluded from the Asean Para Games in Hanoi.
The Vietnam Asean Para Games Organising Committee (VIEAPGOC) have announced 11 sports to be contested at the Games from Dec 17-23.
Vietnam will stage athletics, badminton, swimming, table tennis, chess, powerlifting, boccia, judo, goalball, wheelchair tennis and archery at venues around the vicinity of the My Dinh National Stadium.
Malaysia won big in the track and road para cycling at the last Games in Kuala Lumpur in 2017. The country raked in 22 out of the 26 golds contested.
Malaysia also emerged overall champions in bowling, winning 11 of the 17 golds at stake. The hosts finished second with 90-85-83 behind Indonesia (126-75-50) in the overall standings.
