Singapore strike with singles sweep but quiet day for hosts

PETALING JAYA: It was a quiet affair for Malaysia in the opening day of the Asian Youth Championships but Singapore got off to a roaring start, sweeping both the boys’ and girls’ singles titles at Sunway Megalanes yesterday.

The home side managed just one medal, courtesy of Qurratu’Ain Izdihar Pozi, who bagged bronze in the girls’ singles with 1,293 pins.
