Natasha scorches lane to become first Malaysian woman to win at World Cup

Bowling darling Natasha Roslan.

PETALING JAYA: National bowler Natasha Roslan blazed the lanes to pocket the IBF World Cup in superb fashion in Hong Kong.

The 28-year-old only took two games to beat Germany’s Birgit Noreiks 217-166, 226-169 in the women’s singles final at the Kai Tak Sports Park on Friday (Jan 10).

Natasha is the first Malaysian to win the women’s singles title since the inception of the competition in 1972. National teammate Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek won the men's title in 2012.

It is Natasha's second world-level title. She also won the 2023 World Championships singles gold medal that earned her the national sports award - women athlete of the year in 2024.
