Ee Wei undergoes successful knee op

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttler Toh Ee Wei has successfully undergone surgery on her left knee in Melbourne, Australia.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday (July 1).

Ee Wei expressed relief that the procedure went smoothly and said her focus is now on rehabilitation.

"I am relieved that the surgery went well and would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and well wishes. It means a lot to me.

"My focus now is on my rehabilitation, and I will give my full commitment to the recovery process. I look forward to returning to the court stronger," she said.

At the same time, BAM said it will continue to provide Ee Wei with the necessary medical and rehabilitation support throughout her recovery and wished her every success on her journey back to competition.

Ee Wei travelled to Melbourne last week to seek a specialist's opinion after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the Singapore Open last month.
