Zi Yu-Noraqilah check into quarter-finals, face Indonesians next

PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles duo Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan continued their stellar run at the Australian Open by checking into the quarter-finals. 

World No. 82 Zi Yu-Noraqilah defeated unheralded home pair Jazmine Lam-Lim Yee-Yuan 21-9, 21-18 in just 26 minutes at the Quaycentre in Sydney on Thursday (June 11). 

The rising Malaysian pair had earlier dumped world No. 8 and second seeds Hsieh Pei-shan-Hung En-tzu of Taiwan in the opening round. 

Zi Yu-Noraqilah will take on seventh seeds Febriana Dwipuji-Meilysa Trias of Indonesia for a spot in the semi-finals.
