PETALING JAYA: Former world No. 1 men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani are still hungry for more success despite already having an impressive list of achievements to their name.

The pair have remained grounded even after capturing their 10th World Tour title, with their latest triumph coming at the Indonesian Open on Sunday. For Sze Fei-Izzuddin, there are still many major honours left to chase, including a world title and an Olympic medal.

“We don’t really target specific tournaments, but we can’t be satisfied with what we’ve already achieved. We have to stay hungry and keep pushing for more.

“There are still many major titles that we have yet to win,” said Sze Fei.

For the record, Sunday’s victory in Jakarta was their second Super 1000 title after also winning the China Open in 2024. Their other World Tour titles include the Kaohsiung Masters and Abu Dhabi Masters (Super 100), German Open and US Open (Super 300), Arctic Open and Indonesian Masters (Super 500), as well as the Japan Open and India Open (Super 750). Sze Fei-Izzuddin were also crowned Asian Championships runners-up in 2024.

The pair were speaking at the “Smash It with FeiDin” media clinic in Subang Jaya yesterday, organised by AIA Vitality.

This is their first year with the insurance company as a sponsor. As independent players, they admitted they are grateful for the support received from corporate sponsors and hope their success will encourage more companies to come forward and support professional shuttlers.

“I hope more private companies will see the opportunities available because it’s not just us. There are many other professional players who also need support.

“Many of them have the talent, but they lack the opportunities and sponsorship needed to compete in tournaments,” added Izzuddin.
