Aaron-Khai Xing fall to Satwiksairaj-Chirag in Singapore Open quarter-finals

Disappointment: Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing fought hard but suffered a 21-19, 17-21, 13-21 defeat to India’s world No. 4 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy–Chirag Shetty in the Singapore Open quarter-finals.

PETALING JAYA: Rising men’s doubles pair Aaron Tai–Kang Khai Xing were unable to repeat their All-England heroics against India’s world No. 4 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy–Chirag Shetty after they bowed out in the Singapore Open quarter-finals on Friday (May 29).

The world No. 27 duo made a strong start to take the opening game, but lost momentum as the Indians fought back to win 21-19, 17-21, 13-21 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

It was a disappointing finish for Aaron-Khai Xing, who had been in fine form earlier in the tournament after stunning Indonesia’s world No. 7 Sabar Gutama–Moh Reza in the second round to reach the last eight.
