Malaysia face giants China in Uber Cup quarter-finals


PETALING JAYA: The national women’s team face a daunting task after being drawn against 16-time champions China in the quarter-finals of the Uber Cup.

The draw, held at Forum Horsens on Wednesday (April 29), saw Malaysia advance to the quarter-finals as Group B runners-up, marking their first appearance at this stage in 16 years.

Group B winners Japan will take on Thailand in a repeat of the 2018 final in Bangkok.

Denmark will face last edition’s runners-up Indonesia, while Taiwan are set to meet South Korea.

The Uber Cup quarter-finals will all take place on Thursday (April 30).
