PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttler Hoo Pang Ron can begin his independent career with peace of mind after being spared any compensation payment to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) following his exit from the national squad.

National doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky clarified that Pang Ron was released by the governing body rather than leaving on his own.
