Zii Jia books spot in Swiss Open main draw

PETALING JAYA: Professional men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia advanced to the main draw of the Swiss Open after defeating Denmark’s Dietlev Holm in the qualifying round on Tuesday (March 10).

However, it was far from an easy outing as Zii Jia was pushed hard by the world No. 61 before prevailing 21-17, 19-21, 21-16.

Earlier in the opening qualifying match, Zii Jia had beaten Japan’s Minoru Koga 21-14, 21-10.

The win sends Zii Jia into the first round where he will face Singapore’s Jason Teh.
