PETALING JAYA: It was heartbreak for girls’ doubles pair Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan after their bid for the world junior title ended in defeat to China’s Tan Kexuan-Wei Yueyue in the final on Sunday (Oct 19).

The third seeds fought hard at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, India, but the Chinese pair proved too strong, winning 15-13, 19-17.

The result was especially painful for Zi Yu, who also finished runner-up last year with her former partner Dania Sofea Zaidi.

Malaysia wrapped up their campaign with one silver and one bronze medal, the latter contributed by Noraqilah and Loh Zi Heng in the mixed doubles.
