PETALING JAYA: Three titles and six finals in seven months - the year could hardly be better for former world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.

And national doubles head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi hopes the world No. 2 pair will keep their hunger for more glory alive.

On Sunday, Aaron-Wooi Yik fought hard against an equally determined English duo Ben Lane-Sean Vendy before going down 18-21, 27-25, 17-21 in a gripping Arctic Open final in Finland.

It was their third runners-up finish of the year after similar outings at the Malaysian Masters and China Open.

Still, their season remains remarkable, highlighted by victories at the Asian Badminton Championships, Thailand Open, and Singapore Open.

Next up, Aaron-Wooi Yik will begin their Denmark Open campaign on Tuesday (Oct 14) in Odense against Indonesia’s Rian Ardianto-Rahmat Hidayat.

Herry wants his charges to remain consistent and focused on maintaining their impressive form.

"I hope they will continue to be consistent in tournaments," said Herry.

"They should not be too quick to be satisfied with what they’ve achieved, as there are more tournaments ahead.

"So far, all is good with our doubles department and everyone is in good condition and health."

Besides Aaron-Wooi Yik, Malaysia will also be represented in Denmark by Yap Roy King-Wan Arif Wan Junaidi, Choong Hon Jian-Mohd Haikal Nazri, and three professional pairs Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, and Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong.

Meanwhile, Aaron expressed his gratitude to his team for reaching yet another final.

"I appreciate the hard work put in by my partner Wooi Yik, coach Herry, and the support team. It’s time to move on and fight back," Aaron posted on Instagram.
