PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik's hopes of winning the Arctic Open title were dashed after they went down to England's Ben Lane-Sean Vendy.

Aaron-Wooi Yik fought hard in a closely contested match before going down 18-21, 27-25, 17-21 in 76 minutes in Finland on Sunday (Oct 12).

It was the world No. 2 pair's fourth defeat to world No. 15 Lane-Vendy in 10 meetings.

Despite the defeat, it was still an encouraging outing for Aaron-Wooi Yik, who had reached their sixth final of the year.

The duo captured the Asian Championships, Singapore Open and Thailand Open and finished second in the China Open and Malaysian Masters.
