Sze Fei-Izzuddin pull out of Arctic Open

PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani have pulled out of the Arctic Open at the eleventh hour, raising concerns regarding their fitness.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin, who captured the title last year, played in the Badminton-XL invitational tournament in Jakarta which ended on Sunday (Oct 5) but the Badminton World Federation (BWF) listed them as among the names that have withdrawn from the tournament which started on Tuesday in Vantaa, Finland (Oct 7).

The independent pair has not released any statements on their reason to withdraw from the event.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin’s last minute withdrawal raises concerns that one or both of them could have picked up injuries while playing in Jakarta.

The world No. 3 duo’s participation in the Denmark Open which starts next Tuesday (Oct 14) in Odense is now in doubt.
