Badminton: Tang Jie-Ee Wei make winning start after Paris high


PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei got off to a good start in the China Masters by reaching the second round.

In their first match since capturing the world title in Paris, Tang Jie-Ee Wei swept aside Americans Chen Zhi-yi-Francesca Corbett 21-12, 21-14 in just 31 minutes at the Shenzhen Arena on Wednesday (Sept 17).

The world No. 3 duo will take on Indonesia's world No. 12 Jafar Hidayatullah-Felisha Pasaribu next for a place in the quarter-finals.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei beat the rising Indonesian pair in the third round of the world meet.
