PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin have bowed out of the Hong Kong Open after coming second best to China's Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping in the quarter-finals.

Pang Ron-Su Yin found the Chinese world No. 2 pair too tough to handle and lost 16-21, 10-21 at the Hong Kong Coliseum on Friday (Sept 12).

The defeat meant that the world No. 14 pair have yet to find a way to beat Yanzhe-Donping after also going down to the latter twice before in the 2024 Hong Kong Open and China Masters.

Despite seeing their campaign come to an end, Pang Ron-Su Yin can feel positive after making it into back-to-back quarter-finals for the first time this year after also reaching the same stage in the World Championships in Paris two weeks ago.
