Badminton: Pearly-Thinaah continue to shine in Kowloon

PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah smashed into the Hong Kong Open semi-finals with a dominant win over teammates Teoh Mei Xing-Go Pei Kee.

World No. 2 Pearly-Thinaah showed their class when they overpowered world No. 20 Mei Xing-Pei Kee 21-12, 21-15 in just 31 minutes at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Kowloon on Friday (Sept 12).

The World Championships silver medallists have kept alive their hopes of defending their title but face a difficult challenge next against China’s world No. 4 Jia Yifan-Zhang Shuxian.

Pearly-Thinaah have only beaten Yifan-Shuxian once in their past five meetings.
