PETALING JAYA: Women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah continued their fine form by reaching the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Open.

World Championships silver medallists Pearly-Thinaah were composed as they defeated Indonesia’s newly formed pair Febriana Dwipuji and Meilysa Trias 21-18, 21-17 at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Kowloon on Thursday (Sept 11).

Pearly-Thinaah, who captured the title last year, will next face either teammates Teoh Mei Xing and Go Pei Kee or Taiwan’s Hsu Ya-ching and Sung Yu-hsuan for a place in the last four.

Meanwhile, men’s doubles pair Yap Roy King and Wan Arif Wan Junaidi also booked their spot in the last eight after beating teammates Mohd Haikal Nazri and Choong Hon Jian 21-17, 21-19.
