Wei Chong-Kai Wun go down fighting in Japan Open quarter-finals

PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun gave South Korea's in-form duo Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho a tough fight before going down in the men's doubles last eight of the Japan Open.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun had a tough task against the world No. 3 pair and did well to come back to win the second game 21-18 after losing the first 13-21 but could not maintain their form and lost 13-21 in the decider at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Friday (July 18).

It was the world No. 7 pair's second defeat to Seung-jae-Won-ho after also losing to them in the Orleans Masters first round in March.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun though showed some improvement in Tokyo after going down in straight games to the Koreans in Orleans.
