KUALA LUMPUR: Men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun solidified their status as one of the top pairs in the national team by storming into the Indonesian Masters semi-finals.

They pulled off a convincing 21-15, 21-16 win over their younger compatriots Wan Arif Junaidi-Yap Roy King in the quarter-finals on Friday (Jan 24) at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun displayed superior form to end the fine run of Arif-Roy King, who carved out an impressive victory against legendary duo Hendra Setiawan-Mohammad Ahsan in the second round on Thursday.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun have now set up a semi-final showdown with their seniors Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik on Saturday.

Second seeds Aaron-Wooi Yik eased through their quarter-final match, overcoming South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Kim Won-ho 21-19, 21-15 in a 41-minute encounter.
