KUALA LUMPUR: Matches in two courts in the US$1.45mil Malaysian Open have been halted after the roof at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil started leaking due to heavy downpour.

Women’s doubles pair Teoh Mei Xing-Go Pei Kee’s first round match against China’s Jia Yifan-Zhang Shuxian in the World Super 1000 was stopped with the former narrowly trailing behind 10-11 after rain water started leaking onto the court on Tuesday (Jan 7).

India’s men’s singles player H. S. Prannoy’s match against Canada’s Brian Yang was also stopped after the roof started leaking in their court too.

Only the matches in the main court (court 1) have not been disrupted.
