PETALING JAYA: Bubbly Cheng Su Yin is the least experienced player but she fought like a little tigress in the mixed doubles final of the China Masters on Sunday in Shenzen.

Together with Hoo Pang Ron, the duo went down fighting 23-21, 23-25, 16-21 to top seeds and world No. 2 Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping of China in a marathon 96-minute match at the Shenzhen Gymnasium.

And the 21-year-old Su Yin expressed her gratitude to Pang Ron, 26.

"We've enjoyed a great run here, the encouragement from Pang Ron and coaches had given me a lot of confidence," said Su Yin.

"We were trailing in third game, I know I missed several shots but Pang Ron kept motivating me, telling me to keep it going and play like we have nothing to lose."

Su Yin and Pang Ron certainly showed a lot of spunk in their first Super 750 tournament final and they duo certainly have much to offer in future if they stay grounded.
