Thomas Cup: Justin keeps third singles spot in semi-final against China


CHENGDU: Shuttler Justin Hoh keeps his place in the team in the third singles spot for the semi-final of the Thomas Cup Finals against China on Saturday (May 4).

The 20-year-old has started all matches in the tournament so far and has been selected again ahead of world No. 63 Cheam June Wei in the third singles.

Justin will take on world No. 19 Lu Guangzu if the tie goes all the way to the decider.

As expected, world No. 10 Lee Zii Jia will face world No. 2 Shi Yuqi in the first singles while Leong Jun Hao (No. 37) will go up against Li Shifeng (No. 6) in the second singles.

In the doubles, world No. 5 Aaron-Chia-Soh Wooi Yik will play world No. 1 Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang while Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani (No. 15) will meet He Jiting-Ren Xiangyu (No. 11).

The match will take place from 5pm at the Hi-Tech Zone Sports Center in Chengdu, China.
