Fine run of M'sian mixed doubles pairs ends at China Open semis

PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei bowed out of the China Open mixed doubles semi-finals.

Independent duo Kian Meng-Pei Jing fought hard especially in the first game but found South Korea's recently crowned world champions Seo Seung-jae-Chae Yu-jung a tough nut to crack and went down 19-21, 11-21 at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou on Saturday (Sept 9).

National pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei then lost 16-21, 13-21 to world No. 8 Thom Gicquel-Delphine Delrue.

World No. 11 Tang Jie-Ee Wei had beaten the French pair in the recent World Championships in Copenhagen but could not raise their game this time.
