No stopping Aaron-Wooi Yik as they scramble to qualify for World Tour Finals

PETALING JAYA: National doubles shuttler Aaron Chia confirmed that his partner Soh Wooi Yik is recovering well from a right heel injury.

They were forced to retire from their French Open quarter-final match against eventual champions Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun on Friday (Oct 23).

However, Aaron, 29, described the 28-year-old Wooi Yik’s condition as not serious.

"Everything is good in terms of his condition," Aaron said upon arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Tuesday (Oct 27).

"He is still recovering, but we will definitely be going to Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong."

The duo look to end the year on a high with a packed November schedule, beginning with the Korea Open (Nov 3-8), followed by the Kumamoto Masters (Nov 10-15), and concluding with the Hong Kong Open (Nov 17-22).

This will help them maximise their points to qualify for the season-ending World Tour Finals in December.
