Misbun parts ways with BAM

Misbun has left BAM after six years.

PETALING JAYA: National junior development director Datuk Misbun Sidek and the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have decided to mutually part ways.

Misbun, who rejoined BAM for a second stint in 2017, will continue working until Aug 1 before officially leaving.

"Misbun has been exemplary in his role as development director," BAM deputy president Datuk V Subramaniam told a press conference at the Academy Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara on Friday (July 28).

"From the day he was appointed, he served with passion and was committed to the development of our young players.

"We are grateful for his contribution and thank him for his services," he added.

Misbun's departure comes after the junior shuttlers did not win any medals at the Asian Junior Championships in Yogyakarta earlier this month.
