PETALING JAYA: It will be another quiet affair at home when none made it to the Malaysian Masters final.

It was the end of the road for both national No. 1s as Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah went down in the men's and women's doubles semi-finals at the Axiata Arena on Saturday.

Fifth seeds Aaron-Wooi Yik came short against Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto of Indonesia again when they went down 14-21, 21-19, 10-21 in 50 minutes. They also had lost to the same pair at the same stage in the Swiss and Thailand Opens this year.

Pearly-Thinaah made a late comeback but it was not good enough as they lost 10-21, 19-21 to top seeds Chen Qingchen-Jia Yifan of China.

With their defeats, Malaysia failed to end their title drought at home this year. There were also no representatives in last week's Malaysian Open final following the exits of Aaron-Wooi Yik and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the semi-finals.
