PETALING JAYA: His favourite dishes idly and mutton curry can wait as it was training as usual for national junior shuttler V. Poopathi on Deepavali yesterday.

The 17-year-old opted to stay back at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) to train despite having received the green light to reunite with his beloved family in hometown Kulim for the Festival of Lights.
