Lack of fitness puts paid to Zii Jia’s hopes of advancing

KUALA LUMPUR: National No. 1 Lee Zii Jia ran out of gas in the first round of the Indonesian Masters – just days after enjoying a high at the home tournament.

The 21-year-old went down 21-17,21-23,12-21 to world No. 26 Huang Yuxiang of China in a 62-minute opening round match at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta yesterday. It was his first meeting against the 26-year-old fifth ranked player from China.
