KUALA LUMPUR: An old-timer shone in men’s singles while a newcomer stole the show in women’s singles at the New Zealand Open Grand Prix Gold in Auckland.
On Sunday, South Korean veteran Hyun-il defeated China’s Qiao Bin 21-12, 21-14 for his third international title this year as Japan’s 18-year-old Saena Kawakami lifted her maiden international crown after downing China’s Jiao He Bing 21-12, 21-14.
