Star girl: Sarawak's Ng Jin Xuan wins javelin gold in record style.

KUCHING: Sarawak’s Ng Jin Xuan was just too good for the rest of the pack in the Malaysia Games (Sukma) girls' javelin event.

The 21-year-old was 6.01m ahead of her nearest challenger, as she recorded a throw of 45.12m at the Sarawak Stadium in Petra Jaya on Wednesday (Aug 21).

She also broke the Games record after 16 years. The previous record was held by Ho Sin Hui, also from Sarawak, who recorded 44.98m at the 2008 Terengganu Sukma.

Silver medal went to Terengganu’s Noor Aliya Alias (39.11m) and Sabah’s Maryjane Juberin took bronze (39.01m).
