Mohd Aniq Kasdan bags two medals at Doha weightlifting meet


PETALING JAYA: National weightlifter Mohd Aniq Kasdan has made the nation proud by winning two medals in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Grand Prix II in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday (Dec 6).

The 21-year-old, who took part in the 61kg category, took silver in the clean and jerk and bronze in the overall category.

In the clean and jerk, he lifted 170kgs, while overall, for both snatch and clean and jerk, Aniq lifted 296kgs.

South Korea’s Pak Myong-jin took the clean and jerk gold with a lift of 171kg, and the overall gold with a total lift of 305kgs.
