Drawing the lines of democracy

ON Sept 11, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was reported to have stated that a constitutional amendment will be made to increase the number of parliamentary seats for Sabah and Sarawak, and possibly even for Peninsular Malaysia.

There is much to discuss with regard to a seat increase in Parliament, but I do not wish to do that here as no fixed plan has been declared. Instead, I would like to take this opportunity to discuss a related matter.
