THE future of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) will not be determined by military platforms and firepower alone. Increasingly, it will depend on the ability to see emerging threats earlier, understand them faster and give national and military leaders the confidence to act before circumstances dictate their choices.
This is perhaps the broader significance of the Strategic Guidance delivered on Aug 28 by Defence Intelligence chief Lt-Jen Datuk Fazal Abdul Rahman.
