Has Lima outgrown Langkawi?

FOR over 30 years, Langkawi and the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima) have been nearly inseparable entities. The island has endowed Lima with its name, character and substantial international recognition.

The imagery of fighter jets flying over an island skyline, naval vessels anchored offshore, and defence leaders convening in a resort setting created a distinctive identity that Malaysia could rightfully claim. This approach proved highly successful.
