Revised guidelines reflect the spirit of live and let live

THE Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) welcomes the revised Selangor Guidelines for Non-Islamic Houses of Worship released on June 22, following constructive and frank discussions among Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the joint chairmen of Limas (Special Committee for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism) Ng Sze Han, Papparaidu Veraman and Datuk Ng Suee Lim, Selangor State Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia Selangor) director Khairulzaman Ibrahim, Bukit Gasing state assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran and representatives of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST).

CFM commends the Selangor government for its pragmatic and inclusive approach in addressing concerns arising from the previous guidelines, particularly regarding the establishment of non-Islamic houses of worship and the long-standing issue of inadequate land allocation for such purposes.
