Malaysia’s dreams can once again take flight

I REFER to The Star’s report on Tuesday (online bit.ly/star_klia2nd) that the KL International Airport (KLIA) has climbed to second place in South-East Asia’s busiest airports ranking, an achieve-ment that deserves both recognition and reflection.

According to data from flight analytics provider OAG Avia-tion, KLIA recorded 3.32 million departing seats in August 2025, surpassing regional peers like Bangkok and Jakarta, and now stands just behind Singapore’s Changi Airport. For Malaysia, this is more than a statistic – it is a signal that our aviation hub is regaining prominence on the global stage.
