Malaysian Permanent Residence application process still needs improvement


FAMILY Frontiers welcomes the Malaysian Immigration Department’s commitment to resolving the remaining 11,725 Permanent Residence (PR) applications by June 2025. As stated by the director-general of Immigration, Datuk Zakaria Saaban, the 11,725 applications have been delayed since 2014. This reflects the inconsistencies, systemic barriers, and prolonged delays in processing the PR application after submission, and a 10-year wait is too long.
