Malaysian homeopathy must be developed in a more structured way

EVERY major journey begins with a courageous first step. In Malaysia, that step was taken nearly a century ago by Prof Dr  Burhanuddin al-Helmy. He saw homeopathy not merely as a method of treatment, but as a body of knowledge worthy of growing as part of the nation’s healthcare heritage.

Today, after a long journey, homeopathy in Malaysia is entering a more formal phase with the enforcement of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Act 2016 (Act 775) within the framework of mandatory registration for recognised practice areas. This development marks an important milestone, as it signals that homeopathy has been given a place within the country’s traditional and complementary healthcare landscape.
