Address concerns about Seed Bill

I READ with concern the report “Farmers’ groups urge govt to stop the seed Bill as it ‘will only harm them’” (The Star, Dec 20). As a plant scientist, I would like to share some thoughts for the consideration of all the stakeholders.

First, I agree that the government should clearly explain the details of the Crop Seed Quality Bill, particularly its objectives, impact on traditional practices, and benefits.
