A fan’s tribute to Ahmad Nawab

Legendary figure: File pic of, from left, guitarist Man Keedal of Lefthanded, Ahmad Nawab, and percussionist Steve Thornton performing together during the KL Music Festival 2009. Ahmad Nawab’s dedication, creativity, self-discipline and humility are qualities that young Malaysian artistes could emulate.

I REFER to the report “Losing virtuoso Ahmad Nawab, a true artistic gem” (The Star, Nov 25).

Along with other Malaysians, I am indeed saddened to learn about the passing of legendary saxophonist and composer Tan Sri Ahmad Khan Nawab Khan, known professionally as Ahmad Nawab, at the age of 92 at his home in Taman Melewar, Gombak.
