Solutions to overcrowded schools


I REFER to “Education Ministry finetuning solutions to reduce overcrowding in 86 ‘high-density’ schools across Malaysia” (The Star, April 29; online at bit.ly/star_crowded).

High-density schools have to resort to floating classes to accommodate their overcrowded number of pupils. Floating classes are designated classes that have no physical classroom. They literally move, or “float”, from one location to another within the school compound, following changes of teaching periods.
