Missing that 2% increase

MANY of my retired civil service friends have been calling me over the last few days to express their disappointment that their pensions this month did not reflect the annual 2% increment that retirees had received in the past few years.

Based on a recent Federal Court ruling, pensioners will not enjoy any increases until civil servants have their salary adjusted. According to the ruling, the annual 2% increase introduced in 2013 is unconstitutional and less favourable to pensioners.
