Call for empathy and compassion


I REFER to Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah’s recent statement in the Dewan Negara about the government’s ongoing efforts to address the crucial issue of statelessness.

He said several provisions on citizenship matters in Part II of the Second Schedule of the Federal Constitution would be amended, citing Section 1(e) and Section 2(3), which fundamentally protect any person from becoming stateless.
