Israel must stop its indiscriminate attacks


THE carnage in Israel has not come as a surprise to many Middle East observers, including many Jewish scholars who have long been concerned about its occupation of Palestine and apartheid policies against the Palestinians.

Thomas Friedman, a three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning political commentator and author who writes a weekly column for The New York Times, considers Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as one of the four most dangerous persons in the world alongside Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, “How four leaders are turning the world upside down” (Sunday Star, Oct 8).
