Mind the new rules for construction projects

BY-LAW 5 (Supervision of work) of the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) 1984 (Amendment 2021), which was gazetted and published on Dec 3, 2021, states that the erection of a building shall be carried out under the full-time supervision of a construction project manager (CPM) and assisted by a construction site supervisor (CSS) who have both been accredited by CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) Malaysia.

The UBBL (Amendment 2021) also mandates that Form G submitted for the purpose of obtaining the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) must be certified by a CPM who has been endorsed and accredited by CIDB.
